Open Question: Are there any CDs available to install Microsoft Word 2007?

I bought a new Dell desktop (Vista Home Premium) and forgot to customize when I ordered it on the internet. I don't want to buy it on the Internet as I don't want to go through any registration and buying anything online. I was wondering if there was any CD sold in shops that would help me install Microsoft Word 2007? If yes, is it sold every over the world(or almost) or does it have a limitation? e.g. only sold in U.S.?

Open Question: Someone got my credit card details from my computer/ major website?

I am scared someone has installed software on my computer remotely over the net to steal credit card details. I have a credit card I haven't used for 3 months. I have only used it say 15 times in legitimate shops, e.g Tescos, DVLA etc. the lowest security site I used the card with was Winzip ( 6 months ago) . I haven't purchased goods from odd sites, ebay, paypal or paid for goods in response to unsolicited email or through links in email. Last time I used it was to make a donation by clicking on a big advertisement displayed on a major website such at ITN. The advert was obviously expensive and there is no way it was fake. 3 months later someone is using my card on the internet. They tested it first with £0.01 transaction at Carphone Warehouse then spent approx £150 in the past 2 days , 3 months after last time I used it. I don't have a pin number so they must have got the details from a registered institution/company you would think has high security or worse from my computer. This is scaring me to death. I cannot understand how this is possible and it has never happened to me before. I thought these people can only receive your details by stealing Paypal accounts or by you giving them away in response to emails or through links in emails. I haven't been out for a few days. I only use an email account for work and I can't understand it. How can someone know my full name, address, date of Birth, 3 digit number on back of the card. I don't have a pin number Are there people loading software onto computers from the internet. If so, how can you look for it. Nothing unusual showing up in spyware. I have AVG antirivus that installs updates every time I start my computer - do you think it might be something to do with this? My computer has been behaving strangely recently - suddenly shutting down quickly for no reason - not for updates or overload freeze, just suddenly shutting down. Does anyone know how to find a list of .exe files installed on your computer?

Open Question: internet pages won't automatically refresh...?

when i'm visiting a website, neopets in particular, i'll try to visit the same page twice throughout the day (ie: i'll go view my store many times throughout the day to check my till and such) my internet explorer doesn't automatically refresh, or update, the page when i view it a second time. it just goes straight back to the way it looked the first time i viewed the page. (like my stock and till will remain the same even though i sold items, i have to manually refresh the page for it to change) this is getting incredibly annoying. it doesn't do this on my uncle's computer so i know it's not the web site. any help?

Open Question: iPhone international roaming - what if I access internet, email and web applications using a free wi-fi?

I am going to Brazil and was wondering if I will receive charged for data use if I turn my international roaming OFF, but still use my iPhone as a computer (internet, email, web applications) connecting to free wi-fi. I don't care about making or getting calls while I'm there, I just want to be able to access my web applications and email - I would use my personal wireless network or free wi-fi, available in airports, shopping malls, etc. I called AT&T and they didn't know how to answer my question. She said that my internet will not work if I turn my international roaming off, but I wasn't talking about phone calls... I was talking about data only, and not connected through EDGE or 3G, just free wi-fi. Is it true that my wireless connection won't work if my international roaming is off? In case it works, how would AT&T know the amount of data I'm sending and receiving if I'm abroad, with my international roaming off, and connected to wireless network? Would they still be able to charge me for that?

Open Question: My Wii is not updating!!!?

Hello yahooerers! I'm trying to update my wii and go on the wii store channel but it will not update or let me view the wii store channel. I can view the internet on my wii perfectly and look at the forecast, news, and everyone votes channels fine. Whenever I go to update its says that it can NOT connect to the internet!!!! I have not had any modifications or hacks EVER on my wii! Why is it doing this? I have lookes on the Nintendo website for mistake codes but it doesn't help! Please tell me what to do and why it might be doing this!! Thanks! I have tried restarting many times,but it just keeps happening. :( thanks though... Open Question: If I have multiple internet explorer's open and if I close one of them they all close? What is the problem?

Well title says every but I will restate with more information. This has been happeening ever since I had this computer. There is NO VIRUS. I have taken it into several shops that specilize in viruses and have done several virus scans including numerous manual scans of system 32 to find anything unusual. I am not exactyl a genius with a computer but I am not stupid either lol. Ok, I usually browse with multiple windows to different things such as chat on forums, check email, that type of thing. When I got this new computer which is excellent, everytime I hit the X at the upper right hand corner or any other means of exiting the window such as Alt + F4, then it says Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. every windows close then. Of course the easy fix to this is simply..... browse whilst in tabs. That's not a problem. UNFORUNTLY, I am a gamer haha. I adore to game online with friends. I usually stick to the online downloadable games, which again was a problem since it opens the download confirmation window in a new smaller window which automatically closes itself( which happens on every computers) but it just doesn't close down the OPEN keep AS or CANCEL window thing on most. It does mine. This makes it impossible to download games. I fixed that by right clicking on the download " Open in new tab" since I don't have a problem closing out tabs and it can download fine. On some downloads it will not give me that option. So if anyone has any idea on how to fix this would be excellent and you will be getting 10 Points. I will be checking this frequently so please ask for any more information you might need. THANKS! Open Question: 2 Questions about the Xbox360 NXE update! Help!?

I've downloaded the NXE update, but it's now asking me to apply another update when I try to connect to Xbox Live. The problem is, every time I try downloading this update it disconnects after about 5 minutes! every PC connections to the internet are completely fine! I've tried restarting the router and restarting the xbox360, but it still won't work! I'm not able to go on Xbox Live without completing this update! Any Suggestions? Also, with the new ability to keep your games to the difficult steer, does it mean that you can simply buy a game, keep it, and then sell it on again at a games store? Hey. I'm going shopping on Saturday (I'm 14) and I want to buy some CDs, but about 99% of them have those Parental Advisory stickers on them. Open Question: Inexpensive ways to get 'net' service on laptop?

I don't want to pay for full internet service on my laptop when away from home, vacation. I don't want to depend on going to coffee shops or similar places. Anyone know of non contract services? I live part time in Florida. Am there 3 weeks at a time, five times a year. I don't need a land line phone due to having a cell. Resolved Question: What household item might contain a 555 timer switch?

Hi, I wish the title of my questions explains sufficiently what it is I'm asking? in case not, allow me to explain! I'm working on a tiny project something i found on the internet, simply put it's a light flashing unit. The list of components required includes a 555 timer switch, now i know what this is and how it works but i just cannot receive my hands on one quick. Also they cannot be relied on using their possess laptops. The chances of laptops getting stolen or damaged are too high, risky, and costly for parents. There is also not much need for a laptop to be used in elementary school. Laptop use can be harmful to ones eyes and can promote bad writing habits. Laptop brands can bring competition and jealousy among students. The need for laptops can be a stressing on a family with financial issues. The use of laptops can be disruptive, unhealthy, and can promote bad influences on young kids. Finally, proper monitoring and website blocking is not always successful and it can temp kids to violate school policies. Everyone will agree that there is no hurt in having a laptop. But the problem is that people strain their eyes in very unhealthy and unsuitable postures for long hours. Youngsters use most of their leisure time on their laptops watching movies, surfing or even working. While most scientists believe that the risk of hurt from wireless technology is hypothetical, the risk laptops pose to our backs, shoulders and necks as we lean over them on the train, at home and at work are very real. Because they encourage bad posture, they’re causing an epidemic of musculoskeletal problems. Laptops as well encourage kids to spend too much online, often browsing dangerous sites. Also, there is a concern that once students move to using laptops every the time in school, there will be no need to even learn to write, as typing will become the primary lesson for kids. According to the research in Marquette University Law School, the survey shows nearly 80 percent of students who always use a laptop in class, 96.1 percent use it for taking notes. But that’s not the only use: 70.5 percent said they used their laptop to surf the Internet, mostly to check their email (87.1 percent), although nearly as many (77.8 percent) said they used the Internet to look up cases, statutes, or other class-related material. Fewer than half (42.1percent) said they used the Internet for other purposes, like shopping or general surfing, and even fewer (38.4 percent) said they used the web to instant message their classmates and friends. Resolved Question: Help me find a miniature please!!!?

I collect miniatures to use for my Barbie home. Many years ago I bought some little mini beer glasses. They are little mugs with fake beer and foam. I think they were cake (cupcake) decorations. I want some more but have searched on the internet until my fingers are sore. They are about 1 inch high. They have to be tiny enough for Barbie. I have already checked tons of cake shops. I am not sure if it affected anyone else like it did me, but seeing the absolute desperation of Conservative voters and politicians to keep a hold of power combined with the violent rhetoric ("Kill Him" at Palin rallies and an overabundance of subtle assassination threats and innuendo on conservative talk radio and on internet sites such as Yahoo Answers) got me to go out to my local gun store last weekend to purchase a few more rifles and 1 new handgun...and soon I will be shopping around for an AK or something similar. Watching every those "Obama's gonna take away our guns" Conservatives flocking to the gun stores in the days following Obama's win made me think that maybe I should also receive down to the local gunstore before they run out of guns and I find myself underprotected and surrounded by illogical, self-righteous, racist and really ticked off redneck conservatives with a dozen guns each. I do not like that idea at every...in fact, it is a scary idea and one that I have no intention of seeing fulfilled, which is why my stockup began this past weekend. Am I being silly or practical? Regardless, conservatives are snapping up every gun on every shelf...and I find it really difficult to just think they want a stockpile of weapons in case the deer population explodes.

i need help. i am on a computer now that has access to wifi below a linksys unseccured wireless internet however when i try to receive in touch on my computer it says unsecured wireless network. because security is not enabled on this network might be visible to others. to connect to this network click connect. i clicked connect and im not getting a connection at every it just keeps saying wait while windows connects and it never connects. please help i am in costa rica and went to a computer store and they dont talk english and of course my spanish sucks. u

Can someone please edit my debate speech? ASAP please! The topic is "laptops in elementary school". I'm on the negative side (cons side) I wish that you enjoyed my opponent’s speech as much as I did, yet I must disagree with what he has said. kids of this age, seem to be excessively distracted, and would not be able to focus as much as they possibly could; they could easily pick to do wrong things in school. Also they cannot be relied on using their possess laptops. The chances of laptops getting stolen or damaged are too high, risky, and costly for parents. There is also not much need for a laptop to be used in elementary school. Laptop use can be harmful to ones eyes and can promote bad writing habits. Laptop brands can bring competition and jealousy among students. The need for laptops can be a stressing on a family with financial issues. The use of laptops can be disruptive, unhealthy, and can promote bad influences on young kids. Finally, proper monitoring and website blocking is not always successful and it can temp kids to violate school policies. Everyone will agree that there is no hurt in having a laptop. But the problem is that people strain their eyes in very unhealthy and unsuitable postures for long hours. Youngsters use most of their leisure time on their laptops watching movies, surfing or even working. While most scientists believe that the risk of hurt from wireless technology is hypothetical, the risk laptops pose to our backs, shoulders and necks as we lean over them on the train, at home and at work are very real. Because they encourage bad posture, they’re causing an epidemic of musculoskeletal problems. Laptops as well encourage kids to spend too much online, often browsing dangerous sites. Yes, pop up blockers do work but kids only go to inappropriate sites because they're not aloud to so they break that rule. However, faculty should keep in mind that not everyone is a perfect student and not everyone cares to learn, with or without the laptops. Trial and mistake is the only way to know for sure if the use of laptops in the classroom is appropriate in any particular school. In Henrico Country, Virginia, 232 students were suspended for violating the school’s policies. Also on the down side, is the fact that maintaining laptops that a student is carrying around and on and off school, can be very costly, not every home is a suitable environment for a laptop, and may not be very friendly. Also, if everyone is using laptops they can spend every there free time online chatting with friends and doing other online activities such as games instead of working and this would be difficult to detect. Also, there is a concern that once students move to using laptops every the time in school, there will be no need to even learn to write, as typing will become the primary lesson for kids. According to the research in Marquette University Law School, the survey shows nearly 80 percent of students who always use a laptop in class, 96.1 percent use it for taking notes. But that’s not the only use: 70.5 percent said they used their laptop to surf the Internet, mostly to check their email (87.1 percent), although nearly as many (77.8 percent) said they used the Internet to look up cases, statutes, or other class-related material. Fewer than half (42.1percent) said they used the Internet for other purposes, like shopping or general surfing, and even fewer (38.4 percent) said they used the web to instant message their classmates and friends. The majority of those who used the Internet in class did so because they were bored. Therefore, many students use laptops as a tool for their leisure time and would not work as a pilot program in elementary schools. I now stand ready for cross-examinations.

Resolved Question: How can persuade people that my work shop is not a scam?
